Dynamic Weighing for Heavy Vehicle Control at High Speed
We started 2025 with a new installation completed between January and February in Uruguay, fully dedicated to Weigh In Motion (WIM) technology and traffic monitoring.
During our recent trip, we successfully completed the installation of the BISON Weigh In Motion system, designed to accurately detect the weight of heavy vehicles even at high speeds.

The environment was particularly challenging, not only due to extreme weather conditions but also enriched by the warm hospitality and collaboration of our partners.
The installation took place near Minas, a picturesque town in the Uruguayan hinterland, and the capital of the Lavalleja Department.
This area is well known for its rolling landscapes and strong agricultural and livestock traditions, making it a strategic hub for national freight transport.
Minas, in particular, lies along a key logistics corridor where timber, livestock, and agricultural products from the northern regions of the country are transported south, mainly to Montevideo.
Our BISON system was installed along one of Uruguay’s busiest transport arteries, crucial for maintaining the continuous flow of heavy vehicles.
The daily passage of fully loaded trucks carrying vital resources for both the local and national economy makes load monitoring essential for ensuring road safety and infrastructure protection.
With this installation, we aim to significantly improve traffic management and support the region’s economic growth.

Despite extreme environmental conditions, the BISON system once again proved its reliability—the WIM technology continues to operate flawlessly even under challenging climates, unaffected by temperature variations.
This installation marks the beginning of a promising partnership with the goal of enhancing road safety and ensuring more efficient heavy vehicle monitoring.
