The dynamic vehicle weighing system
How the dynamic vehicle weighing system works
Bisonte is an innovative and reliable dynamic vehicle weighing system designed to monitor the weight of moving vehicles without traffic disruptions.
Consisting of two stainless steel plates with fiber-optic sensors and a datalogger, Bisonte’s dynamic weighing system installs flush with the pavement and can be placed in a variety of settings, from urban settings to highways, from bridges to toll booths.
Technical details
The data acquisition unit, processes and stores any sensed information in a database. This information is made available to the user through a web interface accessible from any device.
- Approved by the Ministry of Economic Development
- Calibration only every 2 years
- High durability and low maintenance
- Easy relocation of the system to new installation site
- Reuse of weighing plates in case of road surface work
- Insensitivity to temperature changes
- The datalogger can also be installed at long distances (up to 10 km) without affecting the measurement
- No electrical wires or electronic devices under the plates
- Immunity to electromagnetic fields
- System functioning even in extreme conditions (snow or mud)

Software for dynamic vehicle weighing
The software is designed directly by iWIM, has a simple and intuitive interface, and is able to provide, immediately and clearly, all the necessary information of specific interest to the user.
The dynamic weighing scale can be interfaced with other ITS systems such as ANPR cameras for license plate recognition.
